Next week, ESE (European Saxophone Ensemble) is starting the rehearsals. Under the artistic direction of Cezariusz Gadzina, 12 young and talented saxophone players will prepare themselves for the European tour. The rehearsals will take place in the ‘Kaaistudio’s’ in Brussels. Those who don’t want to miss the Belgian concert of the ensemble can already take note of the 7th of December: that day the ensemble will play at 20h at the Kaaitheater.

As in 2008, the European Saxophone Ensemble (ESE) has been distinguished with the titel of Cultural Ambassador of the European Union for 2010. Very soon auditions will be organized in different EU countries to gather a group of 12 excellent saxophone players from various professional environments.

The artistic aim is to break down the barriers between different types of music. The repertoire will cover a wide spectrum of styles: avant-jazz, contemporary, traditional and classical music. The ensemble will record a CD and tour during the second part of 2010.
