04 November > ZAPPA in concert !
ZAPPA, the bigband for young musicians between 7 and 13 years old, will play 3 concerts for the BigBang Festival (before Oorsmeer Festival). The kids will proudly present their original repertoire on 7/11 in Ghent (Ghents’ Opera), 13/11 in Lille (Lille’s Opera) and 14/11 in Brussels (Bozar). Not bad at all, for a band that was formed only last year ! The artistique coordination is done by Veronique Delmelle and Marc Galo. Zappa is an initiative of Zonzo Company and MET-X in collaboration with Artforum and Beursschouwburg.

Biography
There is no doubt about it, Zappa is the coolest bigband you have ever seen! This wicked band gathers kids playing different instruments like trumpet, guitar, bass, percussion, violon, drums, double bass, saxophone and also vocals! The repertoire is inspired by collective and individual compositions of the band members. Rythmic games and graphic scores are tools to build it up progressively. The main goal of Zappa is to enjoy playing music together and of course to perform real concerts. Since its first concert in Mai 2010 during the Brussels Jazz Marathon, these young musicians have played in Ghent’s Opera, Bozar, Lille’s Opera, Théatre de la Balsamine, … Keep an eye on them !
