Día de Muertos dans les Marolles 2024 - 08/10/2024

From 28 October to 2 November, we are once again organising Día de Muertos in Les Marolles, together with Tas d’Os and CC Bruegel. With the Great Altar of the Dead, a trio of musicians invited from Mexico for workshops, concerts and a Fandango, a walk through the cemetery and, on Saturday 2/11, La Procesión through the neighbourhood with a closing concert at Parc des Brigittines!
This year, too, you can pay tribute to the dearly departed with music and dance, knowledge-sharing sessions on the world of funerals and the theme of death, creative workshops for children and plenty of other activities. Our selection of the programme:

This 7th edition of Día de Muertos has ramifications far beyond Les Marolles:
▪️ Banda Quetzal will play in Tournai on 26 October at the local Festival de La Mort Qui Tue.
▪️ On 31 October, we will again provide fireworks in Ghent during the celebrations that are being organised there by Bij’ De Vieze Gasten since 2023.
▪️ In the coming weeks, some Día de Muertos artists will travel between the Marolles and Saint-Gilles: in collaboration with DoucheFlux they will organise workshops around the creation of offerings to commemorate deceased homeless people during the Procesión on 2 November.
