Fanfakids are pushing their limits this summer. In July they will travel to Aruba and Curaçao together with Brassbandschool Rotterdam for an international exchange with local youth groups. And on August 12 and 13 they play at the famous Sziget Festival in Budapest.

 

10-27/07 International exchange in Aruba & Curaçao
As part of the Erasmus+ programme, 8 teenagers from the Fanfakids and 15 youngsters from the Brassbandschool Rotterdam (SKVR) are traveling to the Caribbean together. The trip is a continuation of previous exchanges with SKVR at Reggae Geel (2019), Bologna (2022) and during the ICAF Festival à Rotterdam (March 2023).

 

 

Both in Aruba and Curaçao, these youngsters will work with local percussion groups and marching bands. They will be accompanied by Yahya Choua and Zéphyr Zijlstra, 2 young trumpeters who themselves took their first steps as musicians with the Fanfakids and other MetX groups such as Remork & Karkaba or Bakanaï.

 

12-13/08 Concerts @ Sziget Festival (Hungary)
AIn mid-August, 12 Fanfakids will travel to Budapest. A mixed group of 6-12 year olds and teenagers will play at the famous Sziget Festival. An excellent setting for our teenagers to demonstrate their (international) skills on the highest stage. And for the youngest to make their mark as Brussels youth ambassadors!
