Urbanistics: first hip-hop festival for young and old

During this free festival on July 2, people of all ages can discover the richness of hip-hop and urban disciplines. With demos, workshops and battles for children and their parents, followed by an evening program with concerts and talent contests for teenagers and adults.

In a young and diverse city like Brussels, hip-hop is by far the most popular music genre among children and teenagers. But this urban culture has much more to offer than just rhymes and lyrics. Through the new Urbanistics festival, Urban Center Brussel aims to bring people of all ages together around the universal values of hip-hop: creativity, self-expression and metropolitan diversity.

On Saturday 2 July, young and old can try out a wide range of different urban disciplines: graffiti, skateboard, beatbox, freerunning, tricking, percussion, stunt kick scooters, street basket 3×3. In the evening there are also concerts and an Urbanistics talent show. The festival will take place on the Nieuwland site in collaboration with partners such as Fanfakids, MetX and Circus Zonder Handen, with the support of Stad Brussel, VGC Sport and Sport Vlaanderen.
