Marockin’ Brass

Marockin’ Brass represents all musical passions of MetX. One can hear in their music the result of a long-lasting love and a thorough analysis of (north)-African rhythms. On these rhytms, they layer their melodic lines that refer to jazz, contemporary music as well as to non-western musical vocabulary. The result is astonishingly fresh and sounds as if Brussels had always been a harbour at the Mediterranean sea.

After unusual but succesful collaborations with Trevor Watts (UK) and Adama Dramé + Foliba (BF) the Belgian Philharmonic Orchestra, and the outstanding trumpeter Byron Wallen, the group teams up with the talented producer Sofyann Ben Youssef (TU). This resulted in the release of their brand new album Beats & Pieces in October 2018.
